NYX UK is set to send chills down spines this July with an array of thrilling and spine-tingling channel premieres. With eight new films debuting, horror aficionados will be in for a treat, featuring a mix of retro-slashers, gory humor, and supernatural thrillers.

SEED

Headlining: Uwe Boll's "SEED"

The highlight of the month is undoubtedly Uwe Boll’s controversial retro-slasher SEED (2007). Airing on Tuesday, July 16 at 9pm, this film offers a divisive portrait of a serial killer, delving into the macabre and grotesque. NYX UK is set to captivate horror enthusiasts this June with a slate of seventeen riveting premieres, commencing on June 6th at 9pm. Leading the lineup is the world premiere of "Cannibal Holocaust: Exposed," a compelling documentary produced by FrightFest TV. This exclusive programme, hosted by renowned film critics Alan Jones and Kim Newman, offers an in-depth examination of the infamous 1980 film "Cannibal Holocaust." Notorious for its graphic content and ethical controversies, the film's impact and the boundaries it pushed in horror cinema are discussed by Jones and Newman. The documentary addresses the cultural significance and enduring controversy surrounding the film, particularly its depiction of real animal killings and its portrayal of indigenous peoples.

June 13th brings the haunting indie chiller "Jug Face," while on June 14th, audiences can experience the grotesque anthology masterpiece "The Theatre Bizarre," showcasing segments from horror maestros Tom Savini and Richard Stanley. The month also includes the teen werewolf horror "Wild Country" on June 20th, the Canadian horror-comedy "Dead Dicks" on June 27th, and Ti West’s dread-filled "Trigger Man" on June 28th.

NYX UK Unveils Thrilling Channel Premieres for May 2024

 

NYX UK, the prime destination for horror aficionados, has unveiled its spine-chilling lineup for May 2024. With an array of premieres and special events, the channel promises a month of thrills, shocks, and celebrations.

The month kicks off on May 2nd at 9 pm with the channel premiere of the psychological horror classic, "WILLARD" (1974). Directed by Daniel Mann and starring Bruce Davison, the film follows a lonely young man who finds solace and companionship among rats, training them to carry out his vengeful desires.

As the month progresses, viewers can look forward to a mix of horror classics and contemporary gems. On May 7th at 9 pm, NYX UK presents the channel premiere of the cult Spanish horror film, "DR JEKYLL AND THE WEREWOLF" (1971).

A highlight of the month is the celebration of the birthdays of four horror icons: Simon Rumley, Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, and Christopher Lee.

On May 22nd at 9 pm, NYX UK presents the channel premiere of Simon Rumley’s "FASHIONISTA" (2016), followed by a special screening of his debut feature, "THE LIVING AND THE DEAD" (2006), and an exclusive interview hosted by FrightFest’s Alan Jones.

The celebration continues with a special birthday tribute to Peter Cushing on May 26th. Viewers can enjoy a diabolical double-bill featuring "DR TERROR’S HOUSE OF HORRORS" (1965) at 9 pm and the channel premiere of "THE LEGEND OF THE SEVEN GOLDEN VAMPIRES" (1974) at 11.15 pm.

NYX UK launches FrightFest Saturday Scares with Alan Jones

 

Starting January 20th, NYX UK will feature a special treat for horror enthusiasts with the debut of "FrightFest Saturday Scares with Alan Jones." In this brand-new show, the beloved genre critic, author, and broadcaster, Alan Jones, takes viewers behind the scenes of some of his favorite films. Through personal anecdotes, revealing lesser-known facts, and discussing why these films have left a lasting impression, Alan provides a unique and engaging perspective.

Broadcasting twice a month, the series kicks off with Mario Bava’s classic giallo, "BLOOD ON BLACK LACE," at 9pm on Saturday, January 20. Breaking new ground for a live streaming Fast TV channel, Alan will not only introduce the film but also take charge of the ad breaks and conclude the event after the screening. The second film in the series is William Castle’s "13 GHOSTS," airing at 9pm on Saturday, January 27, and produced by FrightFest’s Ian Rattray and Greg Day.

Alan Jones expressed his excitement, stating, “When NYX offered me the opportunity to discuss some of my favorite titles from their impressive library, I eagerly accepted. This FrightFest-produced show allows me to share memories, fun facts, and rarely reported information. Horror channel NYX UK reveals a Simon Rumley Season for December

 

Indie film enthusiasts and fans of acclaimed filmmaker Simon Rumley are in for a treat this December with NYX UK premiering three of Rumley’s exceptional works. Screen International hails Rumley as one of the great British cinematic outsiders. The lineup includes Rumley’s intense and disturbing feature debut, "THE LIVING AND THE DEAD," featuring Roger Lloyd-Pack, the brutal slack revenge thriller "RED, WHITE & BLUE," starring Amanda Fuller, Noah Taylor, and Marc Senter, and the shocking short film ‘Bitch,’ part of the acclaimed Brit-horror anthology "LITTLE DEATHS." The screening will be followed by a special presentation of one of Rumley's early short films, "THE HANDY MAN," starring Greta Scacchi.

These three films are set to screen on Friday nights at 9 pm throughout the month. In January, NYX UK will continue the Rumley celebration by showcasing "FASHIONISTA."

NYX UK's December premieres also include Axelle Carolyn’s haunting feature film debut, "SOULMATE," starring the riveting Anna Walton. There's also the WW2 vampire horror "RETURN OF THE VAMPIRE" with Bela Lugosi, Roger Corman’s B-movie sci-fi adventure "ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTER," and two superior Brit sci-fi fantasies: "THE HYBRID" and "THE CRAWLING EYE." Silent Sundays at 6 pm feature Paul Leni’s classic silent movie "THE MAN WHO LAUGHS" and the remarkable 1911 version of "DANTE’S INFERNO."

On Christmas Day, viewers can enjoy a classic seasonal genre film, BLACK CHRISTMAS, directed by Bob Clark in 1974.

To celebrate Barbara Steele’s birthday on December 29, NYX UK will be screening "BLACK SUNDAY" at 9 pm, followed by Cronenberg’s "SHIVERS" at 11 pm.

Giallo fans can indulge in Dario Argento’s "THE CAT O’ NINE TAILS," Umberto Lenzi’s "SEVEN BLOOD-STAINED ORCHIDS," and Chris Alexander’s neo-giallo slasher "GIRL WITH A STRAIGHT RAZOR."

In November, NYX UK, now available on Freeview channel 289, is set to bring you an array of thrilling premieres. Prepare to be captivated by a variety of sinister characters and suspenseful stories.

First on the list is the beloved sci-fi classic, "INVADERS FROM MARS," where menacing mind readers take center stage. Next up, brace yourself for the terrifying spectacle of "THE GIANT CLAW," featuring winged marauders that will send shivers down your spine. NYX UK reveals a 'Helloween' month of horror movies for October

 
October marks the 'Helloween' season on NYX, presenting a spooky lineup of 9pm channel premieres. Notably, it's a month of terror, coinciding with the birthday of the exceptionally talented filmmaker Sam Raimi on October 23. Among the premieres are the iconic THE EVIL DEAD by Sam Raimi, the chilling 1981 horror THE BLACK CAT by Lucio Fulci, the vampire hit HABIT by Larry Fessenden, the breakthrough slasher BLACK CHRISTMAS from 1974 by Bob Clarke, the giallo masterpiece WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO SOLANGE?, and the acclaimed Irish supernatural horror WAKE WOOD featuring Timothy Spall.

For Halloween enthusiasts, there's a treat: a double bill airing on Sat 21 Oct at 9pm with DICK SMITH’S DO-IT-YOURSELF MONSTER MAKE-UP and TOM SAVINI’S HORROR EFFECTS, offering insights and tips for makeup enthusiasts.

Additionally, the beloved 'Hammer Sundays' tradition continues at 9pm, showcasing four beloved films.
